Lindsay Lohan turned away at L.A. morgue

Lindsay Lohan plans to return to the Los Angeles county morgue Friday morning for her community service, after being turned away Thursday for arriving late.

The troubled actress -- whose probation in a 2007 DUI conviction was revoked Wednesday for missing community-service appointments elsewhere -- arrived at 8:40 a.m., 40 minutes past her scheduled time, Department of Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter told E! News. "We had a phone call before 8 saying she was 10 minutes away. By 8:20, she was considered a no-show."

Video on TMZ.com shows her arriving at a back entrance in what the site described as an $80,000 Porsche Panamera. She appeared to receive directions from a staffer to go to a different entrance. There she was turned away, morgue officials told CNN, because there was not enough time complete her hours for the day.

Lohan's spokesman, Steve Honig, said in a statement, "Lindsay arrived at the morgue approximately 20 minutes late and will be returning for orientation tomorrow."

Winter told Newsday that the "Mean Girls" star, 25, should have known her way around. "She's been here before," he said. "She was a participant in our Youthful Drunk Driver Visitation program" in 2008. He said morgue officials had reported the late arrival to the Probation Department.

Honig specified to Newsday that despite some suggestions otherwise, Lohan "didn't get lost. She arrived at the building fine but there was some confusion as to what entrance she should go in. Because of the onslaught of media that were there, she cannot just park her car like a regular person and walk in. Usually there has to be some sort of accommodation made for this circumstance."

He added in a statement, "Lindsay . . . will be there for orientation tomorrow morning -- on time and ready to go."
