Lori Loughlin hits red carpet for first time since scandal

Hauppauge-raised Lori Loughlin on Saturday attended her first red-carpet event since before her arrest in the 2019 federal investigation into college-admissions bribery by wealthy parents.

Multiple outlets reported that the former "Full House" star, 57, who was born in Queens and raised from age 1 in Hauppauge, attended Los Angeles' DesignCare gala supporting the HollyRod Foundation, founded in 1993 by actor Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, former NFL player Rodney Peete, to advocate for individuals living with autism or Parkinson's disease.

Per photos from the event, Loughlin, who did no interviews, wore a peacock blue ensemble the fashion trade magazine FN described as a "knee-length dress" with "a high neckline and long sleeves." She additionally sported "sparkling gold and crystal drop earrings, a shiny bracelet and pale tortoiseshell clutch," and for shoes wore "a square-toed silhouette in metallic gold leather."

The event, the first the foundation has held since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, honored Oscar nominee and three-time Emmy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson and featured fashion designer Sergio Hudson. 

Loughlin's husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, is not reported to have attended. Loughlin, who has no social media accounts, has not commented publicly.

The occasion marked her first public event since she and Giannulli separately served prison terms for their convictions in the bribery case, in which at least 56 people were charged. She made her return to acting last year by reprising her role as Abigail Stanton in the Dec. 18 season 2 premiere of GAC Family's "When Hope Calls," a spinoff of her former Hallmark Channel drama series "When Calls the Heart."
