Matthew Morrison, wife Renee Puente expecting their first child

Former “Glee” star Matthew Morrison and his wife of two years, singer-model Renee Puente, are expecting their first child.

“Our #MorrisonAdventures have been so epic together, but they have only just begun!!” singer-actor Morrison, 38, posted on social media Wednesday, alongside a video of the couple gamboling in a countryside and each feeling her belly. “We will have a new addition to the family and I’m blown away by the unconditional love that I already possess for this child. I have such a clear vision of the Father that I want to be, but the perfection lies in the balance and teamwork that Renee and I have cultivated. Now, we simply wait with open arms. . . .”

The two, who began dating in 2011, were married in October 2014 on a private estate in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii.

“I’m so excited, and I just want to be the best father I possibly can be,” Morrison additionally told People magazine in its new issue, being published Friday, adding that he’s “looking forward to everything” about fatherhood. Marveling at “the fact that it’s half me and half the person that I love most in this world,” he said, “I’m so excited to meet our child and to see what he or she looks like, and to see what features of my beautiful wife that he or she has.”

The child, the couple’s first, is due to arrive this fall.
