Say goodbye to "The City."

The MTV reality show that followed Whitney Port as she tried to break into the fashion industry in Manhattan has been canceled, People magazine reports.

" 'The City' will not be returning to MTV for season three," an MTV representative said in a statement. "Whitney has been a part of our family for many years and we wish her and the cast the best, and hope to collaborate with them again."

News first broke of the show's demise when Port called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Monday.

"As of right now, it doesn't really look like we're doing it anymore," she told Seacrest.

"The City" - a spinoff of "The Hills," which was a spinoff of "Laguna Beach" - premiered in 2008 and followed Port's travails as a fashionista in the Big Apple.

Port, a former sidekick of Lauren Conrad's on "The Hills," took the cancellation in stride, though.

"It's always sad when one major chapter in your life comes to a close, but for me, this is the beginning of an entirely new one," she wrote Tuesday on her blog. "I loved filming The City. It was just such an adventure and I'm so grateful for every opportunity it gave me."
