Natalie Portman has one Oscar and now she has two children.
The Syosset-raised actress and her husband, dancer-choreographer Benjamin Millepied, welcomed a baby girl, Amalia Millepied, on Feb. 22, E! reports. The couple, who met while making the 2010 movie “Black Swan,” for which Portman won her best actress Oscar, have a 5-year-old son, Aleph.
Due to the birth of her daughter, Portman did not attend Sunday’s Academy Awards. Portman was a best actress nominee for her performance as former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy in “Jackie.” (Emma Stone took the prize for “La La Land.”)
Portman, 35, who had been very private about her pregnancy, did appear in a loosefitting, mustard-yellow embroidered Prada gown at the Golden Globes in January.
Portman told Marie Claire U.K. magazine in January that she intended to return to work “as soon as possible” after giving birth.
