Nate Berkus marries Jeremiah Brent

Interior designer and TV personality Nate Berkus married his fiance Jeremiah Brent on Saturday, a year after the pair became engaged.

Us Weekly reports that the two were wed in a small ceremony in New York City, with E! Online saying it took place at the New York Public Library, presumably the storied main branch on Fifth Avenue.

Berkus, 42, and Brent, 29, formerly stylist Rachel Zoe's assistant, became engaged atop Machu Picchu in Peru last year on April 8, Us said at the time. They had been dating for 8 1/2 months by then, the magazine added, saying Berkus was the one who popped the question.

The two, who have homes in New York City and Los Angeles, were first seen publicly as a couple in December 2012.

Berkus' earlier partner, Fernando Bengoechea, died in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, which Berkus survived.

In March, Brent described the upcoming nuptials, telling E!, "It's going to be a really sexy wedding ceremony, like [with a] really masculine but sexy feel. It's been really great and been a really fun process for us to blend our aesthetics together and really create this whole moment." He said at the time the couple were expecting 200 guests.

Berkus had been a regular guest on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and hosted the short-lived 2008 reality series "Oprah's Big Give." His own program, "The Nate Berkus Show," was syndicated from 2010 to 2012, the year his memoir, "The Things That Matter," was published. He currently hosts NBC's construction/renovation competition "American Dream Builders."
