Newly released photos supplied by Amber Heard show apparent facial bruising that the actress says resulted from husband Johnny Depp having thrown an iPhone at her.

People magazine on Wednesday posted the four images plus a fifth that appears on the cover of the new issue, due out Friday. A video report accompanying the online article gives the photo credit “Courtesy Amber Heard” at the 49-second mark. The magazine otherwise did not specify the photos’ sourcing, other than one that was submitted to a Los Angeles court “as evidence of alleged abuse from May 21.”

That photo shows Heard, 30, with a C-shaped red mark around her right eye, including apparent scar residue below the eye, as well as an apparent vertical bruise on her right temple. The four other photos show apparent scar residue under the same eye in a different spot but closer to her nose, and none of the other marks.

On Friday, when Heard was granted a temporary restraining order, Los Angeles police Sgt. Marlon Marrache said in a statement to People, “On May 21, 2016, officers responded to a domestic incident radio call . . . The person reporting the crime [Heard] did not insist on a report and no report was warranted. There was no evidence of any crime. A crime did not occur so the officers left the scene and left a business card.”

TMZ.com said Wednesday that according to LAPD sources, the two officers who interviewed Heard that night told their superiors Tuesday afternoon that the 911 call came in under the name Heard and that the officers did not associate it with Depp. Heard did not mention his name, and said she and her husband had a verbal argument. The officers, who entered the home, saw no marks, swelling or bruising on the visible parts of her body.

Depp’s spokeswoman did not respond to a Newsday request for comment.

Heard and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise star, 52, married in February 2015 and she filed for divorce May 23.

Depp’s representative said in a statement last Thursday that, “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
