Nick Hogan latest victim of leaked nude photos
Reality-TV star Nick Hogan, son of semiretired pro wrestler Hulk Hogan, has become the first male targeted in the ongoing releases of leaked nude photos from celebrities' iPhones.
TMZ.com said Sunday that hackers released a large number of Hogan's intimate photos dating back to his high school years and including girlfriends in states of undress and provocative positions. According to the website, Hogan, 24, has claimed some of the photos are not his. He additionally noted, said TMZ, that because some images depict then-underage teens, the hackers may be guilty of distributing child pornography.
The website said he has denied that two leaked photos of his mother, Linda Hogan, posing in a thong were on his iCloud.
Before Hogan, nude photos of Detroit Tigers player Justin Verlander had leaked on Aug. 31, though the hackers' specific target was his girlfriend, model Kate Upton.
The Hogan hacking occurred in what observers call the fourth wave of leaked iPhone photos. The first wave, in August, targeted more than 100 women including Upton and actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
The second wave, on Sept. 20, reportedly included singer Rihanna and actresses Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, Hayden Panettiere, and Gabrielle Union. The third wave, on Sept. 26, included actress Anna Kendrick, who was clothed in all 87 photos leaked, and Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor.
A Google representative told the British newspaper The Independent over the weekend, "We've removed tens of thousands of pictures -- within hours of the requests being made -- and we have closed hundreds of accounts. The Internet is used for many good things. Stealing people's private photos is not one of them."
Hogan starred with his family in the 2005-2007 VH1 reality show "Hogan Knows Best."
