Season 11 "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips has married his sweetheart of nearly seven years, Hannah Blackwell.

The singer's representative confirmed to People magazine that Phillips, 25, and Blackwell wed Saturday evening before 250 friends and family members at the Resora resort in Albany, Georgia, the town where Phillips was born and where his family lived until he was 12.

"I'm so excited," Phillips told People. "What I love most about her is she's my best friend and I can tell her anything. I just love her."

Said Blackwell, "I feel like when I met Phillip, he was the answer to so many questions that I had. He just makes everything make sense for me."

The two met at an event for Mission Change, the charitable organization founded in 2008 by his elder sister LaDonna, and her husband, Todd Urick.

People said the bride wore a Hayley Paige wedding gown while the groom sported a Billy Reid tuxedo.

Phillips announced their engagement on Dec. 26, tweeting a photo of themselves displaying the engagement ring and writing, "My best Christmas surprise is happening. We're engaged yall!"

The singer won "American Idol" Season 11 in May 2012, beating runner-up Jessica Sanchez after a record 132 million viewers votes were cast.
