Report: Jessica Chastain marries longtime boyfriend in Italy
Two-time Academy Award-nominee Jessica Chastain and fashion-industry executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo were married Saturday in Italy after five years together.
People magazine said the wedding took place at the groom’s family estate, the 17th-century Villa Tiepolo Passi, in Carbonera, a town in the Northern Italian province of Treviso. The Venetian-style villa functions as an event and wedding locale, and Prosecco di Villa Tiepolo Passi is produced on its grounds.
This is a first marriage for Chastain, 40, who most recently starred in the World War II drama “The Zookeeper’s Wife” and received Oscar nods for her roles in “The Help” (2011) and “Zero Dark Thirty” (2012).
Guests included actress her “Interstellar” co-star Anne Hathaway, with husband Adam Shulman; Emily Blunt, her co-star in “The Huntsman: Winter’s War”; and her “Zero Dark Thirty” co-star Edgar Ramirez, People said. Others attending included celebrity stylist Valentina Micchetti, Italian socialites Bianca Brandolini D’adda and Valentina Scambia, and Passi de Preposulo’s mentor, Roberta Armani, niece of iconic designer Giorgio Armani.
The fashion magazine WWD added that attendees included British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, actor-director director Xavier Dolan and Remo Ruffini, chief executive officer of the fashion label Moncler, where Passi de Preposulo, 34, works. The groom formerly was director of public relations for Armani.
Chastain wore a custom white strapless gown and a long veil, said WWD. At a pre-wedding party, Chastain wore a short, embroidered red dress and snakeskin Louboutin booties, the magazine added.
A Vanity Fair profile in 2009 said Passi de Preposulo, who was born in Montebelluna, Italy, is a count whose noble family traces back 1,000 years. He was educated at the Università di Lingue e Comunicazione, in Milan.
While Chastain and Passi de Preposulo have kept their relationship low-key, the actress told Mario Lopez of TV’s “Extra” at the Oscars in 2013, “It’s a wonderful thing when a career does so well and your personal life goes so well.”
