Robert Pattinson talks of breakup with Kristen Stewart

"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson has opened up a bit about his high-profile breakup with his film-series co-star Kristen Stewart, following her infidelity with married director Rupert Sanders in 2012.

In the September issue of Esquire UK, he says lightheartedly that stuff "happens, you know?" He adds, "It's just young people . . . it's normal!"

Pattinson, 28 -- who stars in the upcoming dystopian western "The Rover"; David Cronenberg's "Maps to the Stars"; Werner Herzog's "Queen of the Desert," playing Lawrence of Arabia; Anton Corbijn's "Life"; and a crime drama opposite Robert De Niro -- appears sanguine about the paparazzi-parade that followed.

"The hardest part was talking about it afterwards," he tells the magazine. "Because when you talk about other people, it affects them in ways you can't predict. It's like that scene in 'Doubt,' " the 2008 film starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as a possibly pedophilic priest, "where he's talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and," he says, "you've got to go and collect all the feathers."
