Sandra Bullock tops Forbes 2014 list of highest-earning actresses

Sandra Bullock gravitated from No. 7 to No. 1 on Forbes magazine's annual list of highest-earning actresses, netting an estimated $51 million over the past year due largely to the critically acclaimed, $716.4 million box-office hit "Gravity."

Jennifer Lawrence repeated her second-place finish from last year, with her earnings jumping from $26 million to $34 million. During the June 2013 to June 2014 period covered by the list, she starred in one blockbuster franchise with "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and appeared in the ensemble of another with "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

Jennifer Aniston moved from No. 4 to No. 3, scoring $31 million based on back-end earnings from mid-budget comedies, the magazine said, as well as "Friends" residuals and endorsements for brands including Aveeno and smartwater. Following her was Gwyneth Paltrow with $19 million, making the list primarily for "Iron Man 3" but also for her Max Factor and Hugo Boss endorsements, among others.

Last year's No. 1, Angelina Jolie, tied with Cameron Diaz at No. 5, with $18 million.

Forbes said it derives its figures from speaking with agents, lawyers, producers and other industry insiders to estimate pretax gross income from acting, endorsements and other sources.
