Stevie Nicks confirms she once was pregnant with Don Henley's baby

Stevie Nicks, of the recently reunited 1970s band Fleetwood Mac, has confirmed past comments by Eagles frontman Don Henley that she once had been pregnant with his child, which did not come to term.

"Had I married Don and had that baby, and had she been a girl, I would have named her Sara," Nicks, 66, says in the new issue of Billboard. "But there was another woman in my life named Sara, who shortly after that became Mick [Fleetwood]'s wife, Sara Fleetwood." Nicks later wrote the 1979 Fleetwood Mac hit "Sara."

Henley, 67, and Nicks became involved in late 1975. In an interview in the August 1991 issue of GQ, Henley said, "I believe to the best of my knowledge [Nicks] became pregnant by me. And she named the [unborn] kid Sara, and she had an abortion." He said Nicks then wrote the song "to the spirit of the aborted baby. I was building my house at the time, and there's a line in the song that says, 'And when you build your house, call me.' "

Nicks told Billboard that Henley's take on the song was "accurate, but not the entirety of it."
