T.I., Floyd Mayweather Jr. involved in fight, reports say

Rapper, producer and "House of Lies" actor T.I. was involved in a brawl with welterweight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas early Sunday, according to reports.

TMZ.com has posted video showing a crowded, chair-tossing melee inside a Fatburger fast-food restaurant on the Vegas Strip, with orange-shirted employees helping some patrons escape the fracas while keeping others from getting closer or joining the fight. Footage also shows the combatants on the sidewalk outside the eatery, where no physical fighting seemed to occur although much yelling ensued.

The website said that according to witnesses, Mayweather, 37, was eating when T.I., 33, born Clifford Harris, approached him and started talking. The rapper reportedly was upset that his singer wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, his co-star on the VH1 reality show "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle," had posted an Instagram photo of herself and Mayweather's young daughter, Ilyanna, and calling the boxer's daughter Cottle's "new boo."

Whatever the reason, T.I. took a swing at the boxer, TMZ said, and though bodyguards for the two quickly tried to separate them, a fight erupted.

TMZ said Las Vegas police -- who arrived as Mayweather was leaving and T.I. already had departed -- confirmed to the website that a Fatburger employee had been slashed during the fight, and that he had refused treatment and did not cooperate with investigating officers. TMZ ran two photos of the man, including one showing what appeared to be a slash wound on his lower left side.

The site said a representative for T.I. had no comment on the fight.

T.I. has released several gold and platinum albums, and performed on number-one singles by Robin Thicke ("Blurred Lines") and Justin Timberlake ("My Love").

He went to prison in 2009 on federal gun charges, and after being released to a halfway house was found to have violated parole in December 2010 and was sentenced to 11 months.
