Travolta and wife show off baby son Benjamin
John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston introduced their infant son, Benjamin Hunter Kaleo, on the covers of People magazine in the United States and Hello! magazine in the United Kingdom Wednesday.
The actor couple had been trying to have a baby for three years, Preston told People, and the news that she was pregnant with Benjamin, who was born Nov. 23, left them "completely blown away!"
Preston, 48, and Travolta, 56, tragically suffered the loss of their son Jett, 16, in January 2009, after he had a seizure during a family vacation in the Bahamas.
Benjamin, Travolta told both magazines, has "given the house a renewed spirit and purpose." He added that, "For us it's been uplifting. Especially when he smiles at me and seems contented in my arms."
Hello! said the couple's daughter, Ella Bleu, 10, is enjoying her role as "Mommy's helper."
At the family home in Ocala, Fla., Travolta sings the baby lullabies including the song "A Bushel and a Peck" from the musical "Guys and Dolls," and reads to him from Peggy Rathmann's "Good Night, Gorilla" and other children's books, People said.
The issue of People with the Travolta family on the cover hits newsstands Friday.
