Coroner: No foul play in Houston's death

The Los Angeles County coroner's office finished its autopsy of Whitney Houston Sunday, ruling no foul play, as the singer's 18-year-old daughter was taken to a hospital and later released, and tributes continued to pour in.

While a final determination of what killed Houston, 48, will likely be made only after toxicology test results are available in four to six weeks, Los Angeles Deputy Coroner Ed Winter said at a news conference Sunday afternoon that "no foul play is suspected." The singer had been plagued in the past by alcohol and drug issues.

One scenario being explored was death from drowning, a police source told the Los Angeles Times. Coroner officials said Houston was found in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where she was staying for a pre-Grammys party that night.

TMZ.com reported that her hairdresser had found the singer unconscious and under water. Paramedics performed CPR for 20 minutes before she was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. California time.

Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said that his agency may release more details Monday about Houston's death.

Meanwhile, Bobbi Kristina Brown, only child of the singer and her ex-husband, singer Bobby Brown, was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at 10:26 Sunday morning after being treated for anxiety, police and fire officials said. She was later released. She had been taken to the same hospital Saturday night "because she was having a complete breakdown," a source told People.

Bobby Brown, who has been on tour with New Edition, left before a scheduled Nashville, Tenn., concert Sunday to be with his daughter, TMZ said. "We ask for privacy, especially for my daughter," he said in a statement released Sunday.
