"First rule in this world: Don't pay attention to anything you see on the news."  This is by far my favorite quote from Kanye West's elaborate minimovie,  "Runaway," which debuted Saturday, Oct. 23, on the net.  I think it pretty much sums up everything Kanye has learned during his career, and the way he has managed to keep his sanity when controversy dimmed his shine.

The short film, which 'Ye directed, is about the rapper falling in love with a wounded  phoenix, played by Selita Ebanks. The imagination and creativity of Kanye West is one like none other in the industry right now.

This minimovie has a duration of 34 minutes, but the imagery draws you in to the point that you can't take your eyes off the screen. Everytime I wanted to press stop something else happened that made me stay longer. I have no clue as to why 'Ye wanted to do this film other than to show off his artsy side, but its a good watch either way.

Music from his upcoming album, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," plays throughout the entire movie.

I respect his hustle for finding a slick way to promote both his movie and music simutaneously. West continues to prove that he is an expert at building hype around his projects.

Selita looks fabulous and her performance is surprisingly believable.  Kanye's music is what gives her almost dead phoneix life and opens her eyes to a whole new world.  Let's see if his album has the same effect on music lovers and cynics when it drops on Nov. 22.

Bravo, Kanye for a job well done. Do you agree? Check out the full length video below and let us know.
