We all remember "Sesame Street" as a wholesome kids' show that taught us how to spell, count and think all birds were 8 feet tall.

Turns out some of that "we" balked at Katy Perry's outfit in her "Hot N Cold" remix duet with Elmo. The clip, as seen below, features the pop star in a somewhat tamer than normal Katy Perry outfit, complete with her cleavage. Seems some -- er, a lot! -- of parents disagreed with her outfit and "Sesame Street" announced that it has pulled the bit from its show.

"In light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of 'Sesame Street,' which is aimed at preschoolers," Sesame Workshop said in a statement.

"Sesame Street" hasn't seen this kind of publicity in years. As of 6:45 p.m. EDT Thursday, "Sesame Street" was No. 9 on Google Trends.

Here's a quick thought: Does Elmo wear a shirt? Does he wear pants? Where's the outrage there?

OK, that was three thoughts. Here's another one: How many "Sesame Street" characters even wear clothes? Big Bird didn't. Snuffaluffagus didn't. OK, fine, they had fur. Well, humans have skin. Fair trade.
