65°Good evening

It feels a little awkward on a Thursday to pontificate about a show that aired on a Saturday. But it took me a few days to get caught up on the DVR with the Sept. 24 premiere of "Saturday Night Live."

And rather than go deep into a four-day-old show, let me just make a brief comment for historical purposes.

Last Thursday, Katy Perry made news when her skit with Elmo on "Sesame Street" was pulled because of complaints about her ample bosom. Last Saturday, there she was on "Bronx Beat," an SNL skit, wearing a cut-out Elmo T-shirt. You didn't need an HD television to see the aforementioned bosom.

This is the type of quick-witted social/pop culture commentary that makes "SNL" what it is. Well done, writers. Keep it going.
