Kim Kardashian is a pop singer now, too?

In sad, but very true news, Kim Kardashian is in the studio recording a pop album, according to People.com. A source close to Kardashian reportedly told People that she was in the studio with hit-making producer The Dream.

Why is Kim K making a pop album? She is the latest in a round of reality TV stars who are trying to milk their 15 minutes of fame. I thought I had heard it all when Snooki said she was coming out with a book, but this may top the cake.

Paris Hilton came out with an album in 2006 and even made a video for the single "Stars Are Blind." It received more acclaim than expected, but my confidence in Kardashian's music is extremely low.

She was known for a sex tape, a big butt and a smile. Oh yeah, and dating Reggie Bush. Now she's got an entire empire based around her name, including "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and a second reality show now filming called "Kim and Kourtney Take New York."

I don't see where pop star fits into this equation, but hey I could be wrong. She might surprise us and be a one-hit wonder like Kim Zolciak from the "Real Housewives of Atlanta." Everyone was quick to hate, but "Tardy for the Party" was bumping in some clubs (shaking my head!!).

Let's see if Kardashian crashes and burns or flies high with her new endeavor.
