"Francine" hasn't even come out yet, but already Oscar-winner Melissa Leo is drawing raves for her performance as a former convict trying to start a new life.

The newly released trailer, below, suggests that the movie is built entirely around Leo: You won't get much in the way of plot, but you'll see a lot of moody shots of the actress looking haggard and troubled.

From a marketing standpoint, it appears to be pitched as a realistic, gritty, performance-based film along the lines of "The Wrestler," "Winter's Bone" and "Frozen River" (Leo's breakout film).

"Francine" starts a one-week engagement Wednesday, Sept. 12, at MoMA in Manhattan with a national rollout to follow.
