Miley Cyrus 'We Can't Stop' video puts image above music

Miley Cyrus can't stop trying to convince us that she's all grown up, which might not necessarily be the best thing for her singing career.

Her new music video for the song "We Can't Stop" makes it clear that her Hannah Montana days are in the rearview mirror. The singer sports skimpy body suits while providing her viewers with ample booty and crotch shots. We chose not to post the video on our site because of Cyrus' sheer stockings that give us a glimpse of her bare behind.

But we almost forgot about the music in this music video, didn't we? It's catchy, but a bit overproduced -- similar to an anthem we'd expect from Ke$ha. The young singer is clearly putting her image above all else when only a few months ago she put out a project that was all about the music and not the way she looked.

Cyrus released the "Backyard Sessions" on her website, videos in which she covered songs with her band in her backyard while in cute boho maxi skirt topped off with a ballerina bun. Listening to her sing Dolly Parton's "Jolene," it's clear that she doesn't need the auto-tuning utilized in "We Can't Stop." Cyrus really belts out that Parton song, and without the bells and whistles of sexy poses and sheer stockings.

The "Backyard Sessions" are simple, but effective. We refer to Cyrus as a singer, but she makes it difficult to pay attention to the music when her presentation is so heavily focused on sex appeal.

The "Backyard Sessions" videos are something that will redirect people to Miley's music, but she seems to be headed in a very different direction.
