Emma Stone to star as Cruella De Vil in new Disney film

Oscar-nominated actress Emma Stone will play a young Cruella De Vil in a live-action film “Cruella.”
The movie is being called an origin story about the villainess from “One Hundred and One Dalmatians.”
Disney announced Monday a slew of such live-action movies including “Dumbo,” directed by Tim Burton, and a Tinker Bell project starring Reese Witherspoon.
Stone, 27, had been in talks for the “Cruella” role since at least January. Glenn Close had played the adult Cruella in “101 Dalmatians” (1996), a live-action adaptation of the 1961 animated classic and the sequel, “102 Dalmatians” (2000).
