WHO Ruby Barnhill

THE MOVIE "BFG"

THE DEAL The 11-year-old actress has been tapped by Steven Spielberg to play the lead role of Sophie in the film "BFG," according to DreamWorks Studios. An adaptation of the Roald Dahl story (the title is an acronym for Big Friendly Giant), "BFG" will be the first feature film for Barnhill, who lives in Cheshire, England, and is a member of a local youth theater troupe. The film is set to open in July 2016.

WHO Burt Reynolds

THE DEAL The 78-year-old actor, who has been auctioning assets to alleviate financial woes, has slashed the price on a 3.39-acre waterfront estate in Tequesta, Florida, Variety reports. The property, which includes a 12,538-square-foot mansion with 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and a 20-seat cinema, is going for $4.9 million, down from its 2008 asking price of $10.5 million. Earlier this week, Reynolds sold his black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am -- a promotional item from "Smokey and the Bandit," though not actually driven in the film -- for $450,000, according to USA Today.
