Michael Clarke Duncan's last movie, 'The Challenger,' to open Dances With Films festival

THE DEAL The late actor's final film is the opening-night selection for the Los Angeles festival Dances With Films, according to TheWrap. Duncan, an Oscar nominee for his role as a gentle giant in "The Green Mile," plays a boxing trainer who takes a struggling young man under his wing. The actor died of a heart attack in 2012 at the age of 54. The festival runs May 28 through June 7.

THE DEAL The star of "Dallas Buyers Club" will appear in a new faith-based film to be released next year, on March 18, nine days before Easter, Deadline.com reports. Last year's "Heaven Is for Real," also opened shortly before Easter and became a sizable hit among faith-based moviegoers. "Miracles From Heaven" is based on Christy Beam's book about her young daughter, who survived a near-death experience and inexplicably overcame a life-threatening illness. The film is directed by Patricia Riggen.

THE MOVIE "Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant"
THE DEAL The star of USA's "Royal Pains" will play the title role in this comedy filmed partly in the Hamptons. The film tells the story of an airline employee who protests when his employer tries to replace the flight staff with robots. It opens June 5 in New York City and Los Angeles, and will also be available on video-on-demand.
