Mila Kunis out, Amanda Seyfried in for 'Ted 2'

THE DEAL Mila Kunis is out and Seyfried is in for the sequel to Seth MacFarlane's raunchy 2012 hit, "Ted," according to reports. In the original film, Kunis was the love interest of Mark Wahlberg, a man whose best friend was a foul-mouthed teddy bear (voiced by MacFarlane). Kunis, often a saucy presence in romantic comedies like "Friends With Benefits," may have a small role in the sequel. Seyfried has often played angelic blondes ("Mamma Mia!," "Red Riding Hood") but recently shed that image by starring in "Lovelace," a biopic of adult-film star Linda Lovelace. Seyfried will also appear in MacFarlane's upcoming comic Western, "A Million Ways to Die in the West."

THE DEAL The 28-year-old actress came to New York Monday night to screen her musical romance for potential U.S. buyers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is an adaptation of an Off-Broadway musical and traces the beginning, middle and end -- though not in that order -- of a romance between an actress (Kendrick) and a novelist (Jeremy Jones, of Broadway's "Newsies"). A release this year would mean putting the film in a crowded musical marketplace that includes "Into the Woods," "Muppets Most Wanted" and a remake of "Annie." The film is written and directed by Richard LaGravenese ("Beautiful Creatures").

THE MOVIE "Console Wars"
THE DEAL Rogen and his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg ("Superbad," "50/50") will write, direct and produce a movie based on a nonfiction book about the video-game industry. The news comes from the publisher, Atlantic Books. "Console Wars" is described by Atlantic as a "behind-the-scenes business thriller" that describes how the upstart gaming company Sega took on the giant Nintendo and transformed the video-game industry. The publisher is comparing the author, Blake Harris, to Ben Mezrich, whose book "The Accidental Billionaires" became David Fincher's hit movie "The Social Network." Atlantic will publish "Console Wars" in August.
