WHO Lance Guest
THE MOVIE "The Last Starfighter"
THE DEAL Even more good news for '80s film geeks this weekend: Guest, who played an arcade-loving teenager whisked into space in this 1984 sci-fi adventure, will appear in person with his co-star Catherine Mary Stewart. She also played the lead role of Reggie, a post-apocalypse valley girl, in 1984's "Night of the Comet," a rarely screened but ahead-of-its-time gem that mashed up science fiction, comedy, zombies and teen romance. Both films are playing under Brett Sherris' Summer Camp Cinema banner.
INFO Saturday at 9 p.m. at Cinema Arts Centre, 423 Park Ave., Huntington. Tickets are $15. 631-423-7611; cinemaartscentre.org.
WHO Anisa Mehdi
THE MOVIE "5 Broken Cameras"
THE DEAL Shot almost entirely by Emad Burnat, a Palestinian farmer, this documentary chronicles local resistance against Israeli settlements in the West Bank village of Bil'in; the title refers to the destruction of each one of Burnat's cameras. INFO Thursday night at 7:30 at Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center, 20 Terry St., Patchogue. Tickets are $13. The film screens again, without Mehdi, tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.; tickets are $10. 631-438-0083; plazamac.org.
