Jennifer Lawrence movie shooting in Hempstead Town
"No Hard Feelings," an upcoming R-rated comedy starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence, has set various spots in the Town of Hempstead as shooting locations, including Point Lookout, Lawrence (with the Woodmere docks as a base camp) and Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale.
A crew was seen Thursday morning setting up at Ted's Fishing Station in Point Lookout, which was made over as "Montauk Dock East."
Set in Montauk, the film is described in industry outlets as being in the vein of the 1983 Tom Cruise teen-comedy classic "Risky Business" and 2011’s "Bad Teacher," about a lazy, incompetent gold-digger (Cameron Diaz) forced to work as a middle school teacher. That comedy was co-written by Gene Stupnitsky, the director and co-writer of "No Hard Feelings." Stupnitsky previously directed and co-wrote the 2019 R-rated comedy "Good Boys," about a group of sixth graders who inadvertently find themselves on an adventure.
"No Hard Feelings," announced in October, also stars Woodmere's Andrew Barth Feldman, who conquered Broadway in 2019 when he played the title role in "Dear Evan Hansen." The film is scheduled for release June 16, 2023.
