Buy, buy, birdie.

Movie buffs who've dreamed of owning a piece of film history like the "Maltese Falcon" statuette will have their chance to bid on it -- along with hundreds of other cinematic treasures -- Monday during Bonhams' "What Dreams Are Made Of" auction of movie memorabilia, which is being curated by Turner Classic Movies.

The black bird from the 1941 noir is the star attraction on the auction block of 309 items. Other items include costumes (Audrey Hepburn's "Funny Face" hat has an asking price of $18,000-$20,000), screenplays (seven "Gone With the Wind" manuscripts are up for $20,000 to $25,000), jewelry ($22,000 to $30,000 for Clark Gable's wristwatch) and cars (for just $450,000 to $500,000, that 1940 Buick Phaeton from the airport scene in "Casablanca" is yours). The budget-conscious may prefer a pair of "Batman" storyboards ($400-$600) or Marilyn Monroe's high school yearbook ($800-$1,200).

A portion of the proceeds from the auction, which runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at 580 Madison Ave., will go to Film Foundation, a nonprofit motion-picture-preservation organization started by Martin Scorsese. Call 212-644-9143 or go to bonhams.com for more info.
