WHO Monty Python's Flying Circus

THE EVENT "Monty Python Live (mostly)"

THE DEAL Five members of the surrealist British comedy troupe -- John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin -- will reunite onstage for the first time in three decades at London's O2 Arena next month. The roughly three-hour show, which is said to include updated versions of their best-known routines, will be simulcast live at theaters around the country, including one venue on Long Island.

INFO July 20 at 2:30 p.m. at Westbury Stadium 12, 7000 Brush Hollow Rd. Rebroadcasts are planned for July 23 and 24. Tickets are $18 and are available at fathomevents.com.

WHO Tom Hardy

THE DEAL The acclaimed British star is moving into American television. His production company, Hardy Son & Baker, has signed a two-year, first-look deal with NBC Universal to make scripted television series for international and U.S. markets, according to reports. "Tom and I love cinema of the '70s -- the films of Scorsese, Coppola, Altman, Kubrick -- and it's clear that modern-day television has become the dramatic equivalent," Hardy's partner, Dean Baker, said in a statement. Hardy is also set to star in "Splinter Cell," a film based on the Tom Clancy novel.

WHO Elle Fanning

THE MOVIE "Low Down"

THE DEAL In a switch from her current big-budget Disney release, "Maleficent," the 16-year-old actress is starring in a project so humble that it was shot on 16-mm film. In "Low Down," Fanning portrays Amy-Jo, the daughter of jazz pianist Joe Albany (John Hawkes), who played with such greats as Charlie Parker and Lester Young while struggling with heroin addiction. Directed by Jeff Preiss (an editor on the 1988 Chet Baker documentary, "Let's Get Lost") and based on Amy-Jo's memoir, "Low Down" is set to screen at the 49th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic next month.
