Willem Dafoe, who portrayed the evil Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s 2000s “Spider-Man” trilogy, is shifting from Marvel Comics to DC Comics with “Justice League: Part One.”

The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday that two-time Oscar-nominee Dafoe, 60, will play an unspecified non-villainous role in director Zack Snyder’s superhero film, which began production last week.

In March, J.K. Simmons joined the cast as Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon.

Due out Nov. 17, 2017, the movie stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as the Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
