On the 30th anniversary of Bob Marley's death at 36 from cancer, it seemed fitting to remember the reggae pioneer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with some of his best music.
Between his large, multitalented family – including sons Ziggy and Damian – and the way new fans discover his music, especially the impeccable “Legend” collection each year, he lives on. Though Marley now has generations of musical followers, few have come close to his brilliant combination of protest songs and spirituality. Maybe that's why we keep going back to the source.
Here's a bit of Bob to start the day:
"Could You Be Loved"
"Three Little Birds"
"Redemption Song"
"Waiting in Vain"
"Buffalo Soldier"
