Long Island’s Dee Snider still wants to rock, but on a new stage.
The Twisted Sister frontman joins the cast of "Rock of Ages" next month at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The casting is a wink at the audience, since Snider's '80s hits "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock" figure into the Tony-nominated musical comedy.
Snider, who was seen this summer on the A&E reality show "Growing Up Twisted," will play club owner Dennis for an 11-week run of shows from Oct. 11 till Christmas Eve.
“Long day of rehearsals!” Snider tweeted on Monday. “Remembering lines, stage blocking and choreography is kicking my ——! I can do it!”
After the Oct. 19 show, Snider will kick off the "Rock Senate Hearings," which will occur after every Tuesday night performance. Foreigner's Mick Jones will take questions from the audience. Other guests will be announced later at rockofagesmusical.com.
