'Glee' heading to Nassau Coliseum
Get ready, Gleeks! The gang from William McKinley High School is headed to Nassau Coliseum to close out this year’s “Glee Live! In Concert!” tour on June 18.
“The cast and I were so moved by the love and enthusiasm of our fans at last year’s concerts that we knew we had to do it again,” said “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy in a statement. “There is something magical about thousands of ‘Gleeks’ coming together to share a special night with our cast, and this tour is one way we can thank them for their unbelievable support from the beginning.”
The tour, which starts May 21 in Las Vegas, will include all of New Directions [apparently except Lauren (Ashley Fink)] as well as Dalton Academy Warblers Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss).
With Criss on board, hopefully that means the gang will do its version of “Teenage Dream.” Organizers say “Empire State of Mind,” “Toxic,” “My Life Would Suck Without You,” “It’s My Life,” and, of course, “Don’t Stop Believin’,” are already on the setlist.
“Joining the cast of ‘Glee’ has been an amazing, rewarding and humbling experience all at once,” Criss said in a statement. “On top of all of that, I’m fortunate to play such a strong and interesting character like Blaine that speaks volumes to fans. Now I have the chance to perform for thousands of them this summer, and I couldn’t be more excited!”
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 19 through Ticketmaster, with the American Express pre-sale starting on Friday. With the Nassau show being the final one on the tour, maybe Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) can show her pals around her East Meadow 'hood before they take off.
