Jimmy Buffett set to play Jones Beach on Aug. 2

With his musical “Escape to Margaritaville” set to open on Broadway, Jimmy Buffett isn’t going to spend any time wasting away. He’s already set his annual trek to Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater from his Sag Harbor home.

Buffett will play the amphitheater on Aug. 2, as part of a busy summer tour of outdoor venues, including shows at Wrigley Field (July 13) and Fenway Park (Aug. 9).

Tickets for the Jones Beach show are $56-$156 through Live Nation and go on sale at 10 a.m. March 12.

Buffett recently released his duet “Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On” with Caroline Jones to benefit the hurricane relief efforts of his Singing for Change foundation.

But he told CBS News that he’s trying to work more moderately these days. “If you look at our tour schedule now… we work Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday,” he said. “We always take a day off, ‘cause we are an old band. We try to stay in shape, but ... we weren’t supposed to last this long!”
