Despite ending its 2021 season just last month, Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater has already announced a new show for 2022. British pop-rockers Tears for Fears will be performing on June 25 with special guest Garbage.
"We couldn’t be more excited to start playing concerts again. We’ve missed seeing our friends on the road around the world and the energy of performing live," said singer/bassist Curt Smith in a statement.
The band will be supporting its new upcoming album, "The Tipping Point," which drops Feb. 25. This is its first recording since 2004’s "Everybody Loves a Happy Ending." In fact, the group hasn’t toured the United States since 2018. The Jones Beach show will be the last night of its monthlong amphitheater tour, which begins May 20 in Cincinnati.
" ‘The Tipping Point’ has been a long time in the making and we are looking forward to playing our favorites from the new album as well as our classics from throughout the years," added singer/guitarist Roland Orzabal.
However, Tears for Fears is not the first show on the roster for the 2022 season at Jones Beach. There are six shows that were rescheduled from this year due to the pandemic: Brooks & Dunn (June 23); Steely Dan (June 29); Backstreet Boys (July 16); Matchbox Twenty (July 19); Santana with Earth, Wind & Fire (Aug. 13); and Rod Stewart plus Cheap Trick (Aug. 23).
Tickets for the Tears for Fears show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via livenation.com. Check the website for presale opportunities.
