Justin Timberlake, Destiny's Child to make music again

Justin Timberlake is ready to make music again. And Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams are ready to be Destiny's Child again -- at least for one new song.

For folks nostalgic for the early Aughts, these surprise announcements made Thursday seem like Christmas all over again, including the need to wait.

Timberlake, who tweeted Wednesday night that he would have a major announcement Thursday morning, basically announced that he would have another announcement, launching a countdown on his website that will end at midnight Sunday. Rumors have run rampant that Timberlake's new song will include appearances by Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

"I don't want to put out anything that I feel like is something that I don't love," Timberlake said in a video statement. "You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it."

To close the video, he says, "I'm ready."

Of course, fans have been waiting for new music from Timberlake since his 2006 "FutureSex / LoveSounds" album. Since then, he has been focusing on his acting career, in such well-received movies as "The Social Network" and not-so-well-received ones as "Friends With Benefits" and "Bad Teacher."

Destiny's Child announced that it will release "Nuclear," the group's first single in eight years, on Jan. 29, as part of their "Love Songs" compilation. The song is produced by Pharrell Williams, who also co-wrote it with Michelle Williams and others. However, it's not clear when the song will be unveiled. For now, it -- like Timberlake's music -- remains under wraps.
