Lady Gaga unveiled the video for “Applause” in her own over-the-top fashion Monday morning, taking over all of the screens in Times Square, thanks to her appearance on “Good Morning America.”

“It’s a total dream come true,” she said, watching the scene from the “Good Morning America” roof.

“Applause” is a barrage of artistic images and choreography, directed by Inez & Vinoodh, continuing the song’s theme of combining art with pop culture.

Gaga said on “Good Morning America” that her hip injury made her artistic process more intense. “I couldn’t do anything else, but create,” she said. “I couldn’t dance. I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t anything. I sat on the couch and I worked every day and I wrote all my ideas down and I obsessed, obsessed about the music.”

Gaga announced that she will be opening the MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center on Sunday and that she has been planning her performance and her outfits for the past year.

“I’m happy it’s in the world,” she said of the song.
