Miley Cyrus naked on Rolling Stone cover
Miley Cyrus is naked on the cover of the new Rolling Stone, giving her now-signature, sticking-out-her-tongue look.
Cue the controversy.
The 20-year-old, former “Hannah Montana” star is used to it, after all. Following her twerk-tastic performance in a nude-colored bikini on MTV’s Video Music Awards, complaints rose up from everyone from the Concerned Women for America to the guy who invented the big foam finger.
Unfazed – or, more likely, encouraged by her success in stealing the cultural spotlight away from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry – Cyrus then released her new “Wrecking Ball” video, where she rides a wrecking ball naked. The clip set a record for reaching 100 million YouTube views in less than a week and pushed the single straight to the top of the Billboard charts for the first No. 1 of her career.
Her tongue-wagging antics will likely continue until her new album “Bangerz” (RCA) arrives on Oct. 8, especially during her hosting and performing duties on “Saturday Night Live” on Oct. 5. Those searching for the reason behind her new sexed-up shock-and-awe strategy should look no further than her new manager Larry Rudolph, who navigated Britney Spears through similarly scandal-filled waters, and the fact that Cyrus’ last album “Can’t Be Tamed” was her first dud, not reaching No. 1 or yielding any major pop hits in 2010.
In the Rolling Stone interview, we learn that she has a quote from Long Island’s favorite president Teddy Roosevelt tattooed on her left forearm “THAT HIS PLACE SHALL NEVER BE WITH THOSE COLD AND TIMID SOULS WHO NEITHER KNOW VICTORY NOR DEFEAT.”
Cyrus also takes aim at the country’s morality.
“America is just so weird in what they think is right and wrong,” she said. "I was watching ‘Breaking Bad’ the other day, and they were cooking meth. I could literally cook meth because of that show. It's a how-to. And then they bleeped out the word [expletive]. And I'm like, really? They killed a guy, and disintegrated his body in acid, but you're not allowed to say [expletive]? It's like when they bleeped 'molly' at the VMAs. Look what I'm doing up here right now, and you're going to bleep out 'molly'? Whatever.”
Cyrus also took the magazine's contributing editor Josh Eells to a tattoo parlor, where she got the words "ROLLING" and "$TONE" inked on the soles of her feet.
