Mark your calendar, techno fans: May is shaping up to be a whale of a month for Moby.

His ninth studio album and its companion photography book, "Destroyed," arrives May 17. The two are a journal of sorts from Moby's time on the road touring. The 15 songs on the album were written mostly late at night, according to a statement from Mute, Moby's label.

The accompanying book - 128 pages and 55 pictures snapped by the music wiz himself while touring the globe - adds the visual to his music. "Touring is all contrasts and strangeness, and that's what I'm trying to convey in these pictures," said Moby, aka Richard Melville Hall, said.

To add to the party, Clic Gallery in Manhattan hosts the "Destroyed: Photographs by Moby" exhibit, which runs from May 11 to June 26. You can see photos and multimedia work from the project, and get an early release of the book signed on the first day. Moby moves on to the Brooklyn Museum May 12 to discuss his photographs and sign more copies.
