Taylor Swift's 'Blank Space' video filmed at Oheka Castle

Taylor Swift took over Oheka Castle in Huntington for her new video "Blank Space," where she plays the revenge-minded girlfriend of model Sean O'Pry.

In "Blank Space," Swift, 24, and O'Pry, 25, are living the life of Gatsby, complete with dramatic entrances down the fabled Oheka Grand Staircase, pony rides down the tree-lined West Gate Drive, and dinners in the Grand Ballroom.

Of course, the fairy tale is soon shattered when Swift discovers O'Pry texting to someone else while they picnic near the Formal Gardens. That's when knife-brandishing, golf club-wielding, mascara-streaked Angry Taylor arrives.

"The media has portrayed me as this crazy, desperate serial dater," Swift explains. "I decided that I was just going to kind of continue the joke and take back the narrative and so I wrote ‘Blank Space.’ We decided we just had to go absolutely crazy with the video."

"Blank Space" director Joseph Kahn told Mashable she's aware of the meme that she has become. "She's not an idiot," he said. "Taylor wanted to make a video addressing this concept of if she has so many boys breaking up with her maybe the problem isn't the boy, maybe the problem is her."

Word began leaking out of Oheka in mid-September that Swift was filming a music video there. However, it wasn't clear for which song.

"Blank Space," the second single from Swift's record-setting "1989" album, was supposed to make its debut on "Good Morning America" Tuesday. However, Kahn said Yahoo! accidentally posted it Monday afternoon and Swift decided to make it public early. Word spread quickly and soon "#BLANKSPACEMUSICVIDEO" was the top trending topic on Twitter.

"Breaking the Internet is fun," Kahn tweeted.

On "Good Morning America," Swift announced a special "Blank Space Experience" app that offers an interactive version of the video, allowing fans to explore 360-degree views of several rooms of Oheka Castle, as well as bonus footage.

"You get to play around this story land," Swift said. "It’s really fun to have fans who actually care about videos and story lines and lyrics. The fact that they’re so engaged makes me want to create cool little things for them. It’s the first time this has been done for a music video."
