Veteran pop rockers Train and REO Speedwagon are joining forces on their “Summer Road Trip 2024" tour, which includes a show at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh on July 27, the bands announced Monday. Yacht Rock Revue will open for them.

Tickets can be purchased starting Wednesday at 10 a.m. through Thursday at 10 p.m. via a Citi cardmember presale. Tickets will go on sale to the general public via the bands’ websites — savemesanfrancisco.com and reospeedwagon.com — as well as livenation.com Friday at 10 a.m.

Since their 1998 self-titled debut, Train has garnered eight Top 40 hits, including “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” and “Hey, Soul Sister.” REO Speedwagon, which formed in 1967, has become a staple of classic rock radio with such songs as “Keep On Loving You,” “Take It on the Run” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling.”

“When I was younger I heard a band called REO Speedwagon and fell in love with their numerous, infectious hit songs,” Train frontman Pat Monahan said in a statement. “Years later I met [REO Speedwagon singer] Kevin Cronin, and thank goodness he’s as great a person as he is a songwriter. This tour won’t just be a great time with great people, but a tour that will have a ton of familiar songs to most generations.”

The bands will perform together Wednesday night on ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
