New 'Carrie' remake trailer released
The remake of Brian De Palma's 1976 horror classic is coming to the screen next year with Chloe Moretz taking over for Sissy Spacek in the title role of a troubled (to say the least) girl and Julianne Moore replacing Piper Laurie as a less-than-ideal mother. A new teaser offers a glimpse of Moretz near the end.
The original "Carrie," based on the Steven King novel, has been enshrined in the horror canon ever since its release, making it a tough one to beat. The director of the new version is Kimberly Peirce, who seems to be reaching outside her comfort zone ("Boys Don't Cry," "Stop-Loss"), and the writer is Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, a comic-book author.
"Carrie" is due for release March 15.
