In his first comment since his wife, Mariah Carey, announced he was in the hospital, Nick Cannon posted to fans on Twitter, updating them on his condition.

"Currently being transferred to a hospital in LA. Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern. You know me ... I will be a'ight," Cannon wrote on Wednesday night.

In what she called a “role reversal" -- referring to her time in the hospital last year giving birth to twins -- Carey tweeted on Wednesday morning that her husband was in the hospital after suffering a mild kidney failure.

“Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman,” the singer posted. She also tweeted the photo, above.

Carey, 41, went on to say that she is sticking by Cannon's side in the hospital though “they tried to kick me out.”

The two were in Aspen, Colo., when Cannon, 31, began recovering from the “very painful” situation.

Cannon's representative confirmed the hospitalization to The Associated Press, saying the two were vacationing at the time of Cannon's illness.

The two have been married since April 2008 and have 8-month-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
