Pierce Brosnan's daughter Charlotte dies of ovarian cancer
Pierce Brosnan's daughter Charlotte has lost a three-year battle with ovarian cancer, the actor confirmed to People on Monday.
The James Bond actor, 60, issued an exclusive statement to the magazine, saying, "On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer... Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."
Charlotte, 41, passed away in London and leaves behind husband Alex Smith and their children, a daughter, 14, and son, 8, People reports.
Tragically, her mother and grandmother also died of ovarian cancer. Charlotte's mother, Cassandra Harris, died in 1991 while married to Brosnan, and Charlotte's grandmother succumbed to the disease when Cassandra was in her teens.
