'Spring Breakers': Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens run wild in racy movie

If Selena Gomez and pal Vanessa Hudgens are trying to shed their Disney child star images, the upcoming movie, "Spring Breakers ," is one way to do it.
Judging by the trailer released Thursday, the film is sexy, seedy, and unlike anything Gomez or Hudgens has ever done -- unless you count Hudgens' supporting role in 2003's good-girl-gone-bad drama, "Thirteen." (I don't.) Ashley Benson of "Pretty Little Liars" and Rachel Korine, director Harmony Korine's wife, round out the leading cast of bad girls, who, by the looks of it, spend about 90 percent of the movie in bikinis. But hey, it's spring break.
The plot: Desperate for cash to fund their spring break, the foursome robs a restaurant, lands in jail and is bailed out by a drug dealer with an ulterior motive, played by a nearly unrecognizable (and very ghetto) James Franco.
Gomez, who plays it pretty safe both onscreen and off, struggled with anxiety during shooting, she said because of paparazzi who swarmed the set. Who knows whether the scandalous subject matter -- uncharted territory for Gomez until now -- also put her on edge. Either way, "Spring Breakers" is sure to leave dirty prints all over the 20-year-old starlet's squeaky-clean résumé.
The film hits theaters March 29.
