The Rock brings the action in 'Faster'
Here is the teaser-trailer for the hot-rod action-flick "Faster," starring Dwayne Johnson as an ex-con out for revenge and Billy Bob Thornton as the hit-man on his trail.
Despite its lawsuit-taunting title, the film has no relation to the "Fast & Furious" franchise. It's confusing, though, because the upcoming "Fast & Furious 5" is also set to star Dwayne Johnson (along with returning regulars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, of course).
At any rate, both "Faster" and "Fast & Furious 5" seem to mark Johnson's return to the action genre. His unlikely reinvention as a family-film star hasn't translated into box-office gold: Recent movies like "Tooth Fairy" (above) and "Race to Witch Mountain" grossed in the barely passable $60-million range.
Johnson was also recently tapped to replace Clive Owen in "Protection," an action film that takes place along the U.S.-Mexico border. It's due for release Nov. 24, 2010.
