With her hit television series "Scandal" a wrap, Kerry Washington will return to Broadway this fall in the new drama "American Son."

The play marks Washington's first time on Broadway since appearing in David Mamet's "Race" from November 2009 to June 2010. "American Son," which will co-star Steven Pasquale and be directed by Kenny Leon, is set to begin previews Oct. 6 and will open Nov. 4 for a limited run.

“Christopher Demos-Brown has written a play that dives deep into the big questions of who we are as a nation, by exploring the intimate relationships within a family caught at the crossroads of love, loss, identity and community,” Washington said in a statement.

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday at 8 a.m. through Telecharge.com and the Booth Theatre box office.
