LI 'Bachelorette' contestant Peter Izzo survives despite embarrassing moments

Peter Izzo, the Bellmore-raised Florida pizza-shop owner competing on the current season of ABC’s "The Bachelorette," survived episode 2 despite some embarrassing moments when he was needled by another contestant.

During a group-date segment in which bachelorette Michelle Young, 28, an elementary-school teacher, tested some of the bachelors on math, science and spelling, the men, sitting in desks, were asked to spell "narcissist." Each wrote the word on a white handheld board — except for Will Urena, a 28-year-old from Michigan, who instead wrote, "Peter."

"I looked over and he was heated. … His face was red as tomato sauce!" Urena said snarkily in an insert shot.

Izzo, 26, responded in his own insert shot, "To say that I'm a narcissist in front of Michelle, do you understand how low that is? That's someone that literally doesn't think that anybody on this planet Earth exists other than them. … He's known me for two, three days — he has no idea who I am."

He later confronted Urena, saying it was "really inappropriate of you to call me a narcissist when I was completely defenseless" and calling Urena " stunad," an Italian slang wrong meaning stupid or crazy.

Urena shot back, "It's pizza this, pizza that, pizza this," referring to Izzo's frequent comments about being a "pizzapreneur." "I'm tired of hearing about pizza!"

Regardless, Izzo remained in the competition, while PJ Henderson, Alec Thompson, Daniel Tully and Brooklyn neuroscientist Pardeep Singh were cut.
