Billy Joel, Amy Schumer will be Jimmy Kimmel’s Brooklyn guests
Billy Joel and David Letterman will be guests during Jimmy Kimmel’s return engagement to Brooklyn in mid-October, ABC announced Wednesday.
Joel won’t be the only Long Islander showing up the week of Oct. 16-20. Also booked are Rockville Centre-raised Amy Schumer and Howard Stern, who grew up in Roosevelt and Rockville Centre. Comedian Tracy Morgan — who’s from Brooklyn (technically a part of Long Island) — is also a guest.
Joel has never been a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” although that may be a matter of geography as opposed to late-night TV taste. (“Live” is taped on the west coast.)
Meanwhile, this will mark Letterman’s first return to late night since his 2015 retirement, and his second appearance on one of these Kimmel Brooklyn specials (the first was in 2012). He will host and produce a six-episode interview series for Netflix beginning next year. Stern and Morgan also were past guests during the earlier Brooklyn shows. This will mark Schumer’s fourth appearance on “Live.”
The Brooklyn shows will be held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s ornate and spacious Howard Gilman Opera House.
